About Bronius Motekaitis

I enjoy technology, music, visual arts, community, and spending time with my family.

Technology: At present, I am employed by Brazos County in software development.  Previously, as webmaster and "miscellaneous," I accomplished some really neat things there, and now I hope to have even greater influence to help this organization better serve its citizens.

To feed my creative side, I freelance as BCS WebStudio in various web and other UI design projects as time permits. Tying together music and visual art through technology is the best.

Music: I have been playing violin since a very early age. I've played and sung with various groups including the local Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra, Chorale, and St. Cecilia Consort. I especially love playing in small ensembles. Music feeds me like nothing else, and I encourage everyone to participate.

Visual Arts: I dabble in the visual arts with painting. There is an active pocket of visual arts here in Brazos County, and you can find lots more (including music) at the Arts Council of Brazos Valley.

Community: Our community here in Bryan / College Station is like that of any move-out college town with students and families coming and going in waves, but there are plenty fulltime residents here as well. Consequently, it's tough to start things and keep them going. We cherish the things we have built, and we work hard to bring more here, because that's what communities do. My involvement comes and goes as my schedule, permits, so I enjoy participating in church, music, and art functions whenever possible.

Family: My wife and I both came from families of 4 children. I am first-generation Lithuanian-American (both parents came from Lithuania), and my wife is 1/2 East Indian and 1/2 Wisconsin.

At present, we have one, beautiful little boy. Before taking time off to raise him, my wife worked part time in social and student ministries at a local, nationally acclaimed church. We both still try to remain active in volunteer work.

Pictures of me and my family tend to pop up on my flickr page
